School Council - In the beginning...
Our School Council was first started in November 2001, with a small comity of 6 members.
We now have council representatives in years 3,4,5 and 6. We are going to invite Y2 to elect members after Christmas 2004.
We meet every week for a full council meeting and sometimes we have emergency meetings which means that we have extra meetings during that week .
Each class holds a class council meeting once every fortnight. In these meetings the class discuss items given in the class suggestion box or an item that has been put on the the agenda .
In our class council meetings we decide what items are worthy to be passed on to the school council for further discussion.
We try and involve the pupils to think how we can play an important part in the running of our school.
We have had the Head teacher's permission to organise certain charities for example, children in need, Red nose day, cake stalls for Blue Peter and other charities.
We have been to a governors meeting to introduce ourselves, and to tell them about our council members. We have our own bank account and from the profit we have made with the tuck shop we have been able to purchase games for lunch times.
The school council were recently invited to visit County Hall as a result of our request for funding for bike racks.

We have also invited the P.T.A to come to talk to us, and we have met with our school Peer Supporters to discuss how we can make our school a happy environment.
